THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HYPOGLYCEMIC CONFIDENCE AND HYPOGLYCEMIA FEAR IN TYPE 2 DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS

Objective: This study aims to identify the relationship between hypoglycemic confidence and hypoglycemia fear in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.
 Method: Designed as a descriptive cross-sectional study, this research was conducted with 306 patients who visited polyclinic have an examination period December 2021 February 2022. The data were collected by using “Patient Identification Form”, “Hypoglycemic Confidence Scale”, “Hypoglycemia Fear Survey”. Descriptive statistics, Independent Samples t-test, One-Way ANOWA test, Pearson’s correlation linear regression analysis used evaluation of data.
 Results: In research, 60.8% participant female, their mean age 55.14±8.10 years, duration having disease 10.35±4.77 years. Means patients’ Hypoglycemic Scale (HCS)’ score 1.65±0.47 ‘Hypoglycemia Survey (HFS)’ scores 3.02±0.56 points.
